To print wirelessly using your Apple device (such as the iPad, iPhone or iPod touch), you must download and install one of the following applications from the App Store:

  • iPrint&Label
  • Mobile Cable Label Tool (for printing cable labels)

To connect to a wireless network, you must use the supplied AC adapter or Li-ion battery. If your Brother printer is powered by alkaline or Ni-MH batteries, you cannot connect it to a wireless network.

Choose a connection method to wirelessly connect the Brother printer and your Apple mobile device:
If you have a wireless router/access point
If you do not have a wireless router/access point

If you have a wireless router/access point

If you have a wireless router/access point, do the following:

  1. Connect your Brother printer to your wireless router/access point.

  2. Connect your mobile device to the same wireless router/access point.
(You can skip this step if your device is already connected to a Wi-Fi® network.)

  3. You can now print from your mobile device wirelessly.

Add your Bluetooth printer to your printer list: Choose Apple menu System Preferences, then click Printers & Scanners. Click the Add button, then click the Default button. Select the printer in the Printers list, then click Add. If the printer you expect to see is not in the list, enter its name in the search field, and press Return. Prepare a USB cable that will allow connection between the printer and the Macbook. When purchasing a printer, it comes with two cables: the power cable and the USB cable. Get the cable with the square-type connector. Apple's AirPrint technology allows Apple devices to send print operations over Wi-Fi to supported printers, eliminating the need for unnecessary cables. Once you have your printer properly set up, it's pretty convenient to print anything that's displayed on your iPhone or iPad screen. Looking forward to try out AirPrint on your iOS device? Connect the printer, then connect a USB-C cable to a power supply to prolong the battery life of your Mac. Go to System Preferences, and choose Printers & Scanners. If a printer appears in the list, you can click on it. Connect the printer and computer with a USB cable, and start the P-touch Utility. For more information, see 'Using the P-touch Utility (for Mac OSX)'. In the Wireless Direct tab, set Wireless Direct to ON. Start your mobile application, and then tap the Settings icon. (Mobile Cable Label Tool users must also tap Printer Settings.
